Location & Size

Kalulushi district lies in the Copperbelt Province between longitudes 28 degrees east of the
Greenwich Meridian and latitudes 13 degrees south of the Equator.

Kalulushi District serves as one of the Copperbelt’s most dynamic and fast-growing districts. Positioned just 15 kilometres west of Kitwe, Kalulushi sits at the heart of Zambia’s industrial belt, blending rich natural landscapes with a strong mining and manufacturing heritage. The district covers an estimated 1,038 km² of land, stretching across gently undulating terrain at an elevation of about 1,260–1,300 metres above sea level. 

Coordinates & Elevation

Geographically, Kalulushi lies around 12.84° South and 28.09° East, placing the district within Zambia’s high plateau. The area’s elevation contributes to a fresh, moderate climate and supports both settlement expansion and agricultural activity around the outskirts of the town.

Kalulushi is home to a diverse and vibrant population, with an estimated 170,000+ residents living across both urban and rural communities.
