The Office Of the Housing and Social Services

The Department is  responsible for the provision of community development services and social protection programmes. The Department is also  responsible  for the management of Council properties and housing units, as well as administration of bus stations and market facilities. It is also  responsible for provision of library
services, management of Archives, cultural matters, sports and recreation activities
and skills development.

Roles of The Housing & Social Services Department

  • Conduct registration of community voluntary organisations; b) Coordinate and implement social protection programmes
  • Manage Archives in order to preserve historical events, Manage sports and recreational activities and Coordinate skills development.
