The Department is  responsible for the provision of preventive and curative health services through general nursing care and clinical care and provision of medical equipment, and pharmaceutical services. The Department is also responsible for implementing programmes and projects aimed at preventing, controlling and eliminating diseases in order to promote health and prolong life
